Once again two Ventura County communities Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks have made the top ten safest cities. This is according to the FBI report published in late May 2007.
Thousand Oaks came in number 6 and Simi Valley number 8. Once again Irving, Ca. in Orange County was heralded the safest in the country. Glendale, California was also named, along with a fifth California City, Sunnyvale, in Northern Californian which made number five on the list.
The FBI Top Ten List was determined from information obtained in initial reports submitted by two hundred sixty-five city police departments. The reports tracked statistics on violent crimes such as murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault and it also included indexed property crimes such as burglary, larceny and motor theft.
Listed below are the ten safest cities in the United States: 1. Irvine, California 2. Amherst, New York 3. Cary, North Carolilna 4. Gilbert, Arizona 5. Sunnyvale, California 6. Thousand Oaks 7. Glendale, California 8. Provo, Utah 9. Bellevue, Washington 10. Simi Valley, California
