Old Irving is a large community on the northwest side of Chicago, home to smaller neighborhoods such as Old Irving Park, Irving Park, Albany Park, and the Villa Historic District. Many consider Old Irving to be a quiet community, fit for raising a family. Each neighborhood in the community has a different flavor of real estate to offer. Many of the houses in the community appear as if pulled from a movie set. Large, old white framed houses give the Old Irving a distinct look not so easily found elsewhere in Chicago.
The Villa Historic District contains notable real estate, with its neighborhood-long tree-lined parkways, and various styles of brick and stucco homes, some of Chicago’s largest and most beautiful homes. Other home styles in the community include Victorian, Italianate, and Queen Anne buildings, along with farmhouses and smaller single-family residences. Old Irving has been in a period of redevelopment thanks to the efforts of the Irving Park Historical Society, so many of these homes are being renovated or preserved.
Old Irving offers quality restaurants with various types of dining. Italian, Thai, Asian, and American cuisines are available. Golden Nugget Pancake House is a wonderful answer to breakfast on quiet weekends. Galleries, theaters, and bars provide residents with entertainment, while the conveniently close bookstores, antique shops, and boutiques satisfy most residents’ shopping desires within the limits of the community.
A family environment, Old Irving has its share of schools. Serving children from kindergarten through high school, Old Irving’s many education options provide residents with quality schooling opportunities
