Lincoln Park, Chicago real estate is some of Chicago’s most popular, most desirable real estate. The community lies in North Chicago on the shores of both Michigan Lake and the Chicago River, only a ten minute drive from the busy downtown Loop. Housing in Lincoln Park consists mainly of small (three- to four-story) apartment buildings starting at $200k and up to $2 million. Row houses (small buildings attached in a row encompassing a block), for which Lincoln Park is known, are also available, but they are usually the more expensive dwellings. Different neighborhoods of the community hold different styles of housing. Old Town contains classic brick town homes, Wrightwood and Sheffield are home to mansions, and DePaul’s row houses are decorated in Victorian style. Because DePaul University is located inside Lincoln Park, the majority of residents in the community are young, single recent college graduates, and college students. Young families also tend to make their homes inside Lincoln Park.
The community itself is full of endless opportunities for entertainment. Lincoln Park, the shoreline park after which the community was named, stretches from Ardmore Avenue to North Avenue, and contains the free Lincoln Park Zoo, the Lincoln Park Conservatory, an outdoor theater, a rowing canal, ponds, ballparks, tennis courts, a golf course, the Peggy Notebart Nature Museum, and the famous restaurant North Pond. The free Summer Concert Series is a special event hosted at Lincoln Park, along with the Air and Water show, Lincoln Park fest, and many more. Right on the Lake Michigan, residents don’t have to travel far to enjoy all of the amenities of a lake, such as picnicking, swimming, boating, and fishing. Downtown Chicago is also near, providing many more opportunities to keep residents busy.
One does not have to even leave the community to enjoy some of Chicago’s finest restaurants and shopping. Bars, theaters, and various multicultural restaurants including Mexican, Italian, Thai, Chinese and many more line the main streets. Relaxing coffee shops and tea houses are also available.
Lincoln Park is home to eight public schools, several parochial schools, along with DePaul University, all of which are appreciated for having high standardized test scores.
