Venice Beach Real Estate By Rosa Gibbons XML

Venice Beach, California is a small beach community located west of Los Angeles, adjacent to Santa Monica and Marina del Ray.  Venice Beach offers a gorgeous beach atmosphere, with endless sunshine and activity for residents and visitors alike.  The community is divided up into smaller neighborhoods, each one with its own distinct flavor, and many with their own active neighborhood groups.  With the average selling price of homes being around the mid to upper 100k’s, real estate consists of a diverse mix of living opportunities from 1920’s-style beach pads to 1950’s ranch-style, contemporary, and loft-style studio homes.  Anyone willing to spend over $1 million will find more than enough luxury homes to suit his or her needs.  Venice Beach is a very convenient location, only 15 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport, 20 minutes from Beverly Hills, and 30 minutes to downtown Los Angeles.

Venice Beach is considered one of the funkiest areas in the entire nation, as a walk down the street reveals beachside artists, musicians, street performers, and many other unique and interesting scenes that attribute to the virtual carnival that makes up the community.  The beach offers countless opportunities for swimming, surfing, skating, volleyball, jogging, and much more.  Sailing, kayaking, and deep sea fishing opportunities are not far as well.  Shopping is not scarce, with many vintage clothing, art, books, jewelry, furniture, and antique shops and trendy designer boutiques available.  More shopping is available close by in downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Marina del Ray.

Nightlife in Venice Beach is full of activity.  Most of the community’s restaurants are small, trendy, and owner-operated with casual atmospheres that attract regular local crowds.  The community has its share of bars and pubs; even the well-known Benihana is nearby.  Nightclubs and various theaters are also available for after-hours fun.
