Arlington County is an modern, urban county, made up of about 26 square miles of prime Arlington County real estate which is located directly across from the Potomac River and Washington D.C. with pages of American history behind it.  There are no incorporated towns or cities within Arlington County boundaries. Originally Arlington County real estate was part of the area surveyed for the nation's capital.  The west bank portion of the Arlington County Virginia real estate was returned to the Commonwealth of Virginia by the U.S. Congress in 1846. This area was known as Alexandria City and, at that time, Alexandria County,  until 1920 when the Alexandria County portion was renamed Arlington County. Today Arlington County Va real estate has become highly valued and pricey, with residential and commercial properties available all over the county.  Prices in both catagories range from affordable to upper end, depending on location, type of Arlington County real estate, size and age.

Residents throughout Arlington County are actively involved in the community and are proud of their past history, present accomplishments and very confident in the future of their communiites and of their county and country. Arlington County real estate is among the most densely populated counties in the country. Arlington County's estimated population is approximately 200,000 as of the beginning of 2005, up about 5% since 2000, and it continues to grow with many visitors coming back to live in this beautiful area.

Although perhaps best known to visitors as the home of the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington County boasts high quality residential neighborhoods. This is truly a desirable place to live for new families, growing families, singles or retirees.  There is a good feeling of being downhome and comfortable  anywhere within this county.

Arlington County public schools are among the finest anywhere in the USA.  Arlington County public school children speak more than 60 different languages and Arlington County Va residents are among the most highly educated in the nation. Over 60% of adults, age 25 and older,  have a bachelor's degree or higher and 30% have a graduate or professional degree.


Arlington County libraries are large and modern and up to date with all of the latest techno equipment.The locations of the libraries are easy and convenient to use.

There are almost 200 public parks and playgrounds in Arlington County,and  86 miles of biking/jogging trails, 14 community centers, 5 theaters and 8 libraries for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Arlington County's central location in the Washington DC metropolitan area, its ease of access by car and public transportation, and its highly skilled labor force have attracted an increasingly varied residential and commercial mix.
Arlington has focused high-density commercial and residential development centers based around Metrorail stations in the Metro Corridors, while maintaining lower density residential neighborhoods in the rest of the County.

The federal government is the largest single employer in the County. Arlington County's top 5 private employers are US Airways, Verizon, Marriott Corporation, SAIC and Virginia Hospital Center.
At the end of  2004, Arlington County's unemployment rate was 1.4%. Way below the national average.
The construction industry here is adding thousands of jobs to the booming economy due to the Arlington County's real estate market boom.  Remodels, new homes, new Arlington County condos and town homes are going up everywhere along with high rise commercial buildings and other business centers.
Arlington has more private office space than downtown Los Angeles , Atlanta or Seattle. Arlington County jobs are abundant everywhere and Arlington County employment is higher than anytime in history.  The Arlington County Virgiina tax base is approximately evenly divided between commercial and residential properties, enabling the County to maintain one of the lowest tax rates in the Washington DC region. What other metro region has these bragging rights?
